Involment in Education:

  • my Mother was a primary school teacher, Father a lecturer (3 years at Massey) and perpetual student.
  • attended 4 primary schools, (3 city schools (one in Australia) and one 5 teacher country school)
  • attended a school her mother taught at and helped her during school holidays
  • attended 3 secondary schools, (one fed by many country schools, one area school and a large central city school)
  • BSc in Botany, Ecology and Physical Geography
  • Nanny for 11 children (0-9) over as many years and in 3 countries.
  • Primary training (Wellington College of Education)
  • Teaching (a disaster)
  • Art course at The Learning Connexion
  • part-time co teaching in a senior Montessori class, then in a new entrant class (approximately 5 years)
  • Montessori 11 – 12 qualification
  • Playcentre, as a parent and as child support person (6 years)
  • Homeschooling my child who refused to go to school (last 5 years)
  • Homeschoolery blog – tracking my child’s learning and as PD
  • distance TER course
  • lead educator for Everyone Out holiday programme since 2018.

I have always been interested in education, particularly in the kind of education that makes our lives more fulfilling.
